National Deaf Children’s Society and the Outlaw Challenge

Hydroblast – the Hydrodemolition experts based in North Yorkshire are proud to be sponsoring a competitor in the Outlaw Challenge for the NDCS. The NDCS is the National Deaf Children’s Society – a charity that is designed to help make the world a better and more accessible place for deaf children and young people up to the age of 25 and in turn help them to lead a normal life.
The National Deaf Children’s Society was founded in 1944 as the Society of St. John of Beverley, and then in 1945 renamed The Deaf Children’s Society. ave provisions to help deaf students.
Hydroblast aren’t just focused on our clients, we like to help give back to the community, and felt that giving our sponsorship to our friend Thom Dobson’s competitive gear was an important thing to do especially as he is doing it to help children like his nephew Ryan.
What is the Outlaw Challenge?
The Outlaw Challenge is a grueling triathlon style event featuring a 2.4 mile swim,112 mile cycle and 26.2 mile run. This is designed to test the fitness of the competitor and push them to their limits. Thom will have to put in the hours in terms of training in order to battle through these tasks!
1450 people take part in this event and of those, six men have completed it every year since the Outlaw was launched in 2010 and are aiming for a seventh year! Nottingham’s National Water Sports Centre hosts the Outlaw on 24 July 2016. As long as you can cover the distance in 17 hours or less, you will become an Outlaw.
As Thom is doing this for the NDCS he has set up a just giving page so that he can help this great charity by competing and finishing this year’s outlaw challenge.
