At a fuel depot in Thirsk, HYDROBLAST used the T25, a maximum pressure water jet system using 1200 litres of water per hour, to blast away layers of epoxy resin from four large diesel tanks.
Working at 2,500 bar pressure, a square metre of steel can be stripped back to bare shiny steel in 60 seconds. A 3 point / speed rotating nozzle distributes the pressure evenly over a larger area to ensure the force of the jets does not penetrate the metal.
For every 100 bar pressure, there is a rise of 1 C, meaning that excess water dries away in minutes.
However, most importantly on this project - given the nature of the containers - the unit operates completely SPARK-FREE.
